Alice Walker is an American Author, political and human rights activist, short story writer, poet and much more! She is best known for her novel The Color Purple (1982) for which she won the Pulitzer Prize (becoming the first African-American woman to win (in fiction)) and the National Book Award. Here, we will discuss the work of Alice Walker, its contribution to and impact on the global Black community.
