Ibtihaj Muhammad (Maplewood, N.J.) was honored by the Muslim Women’s Sports Foundation when she was named International Sportswoman of the Year. Muhammad won bronze in the team event at both the 2011 and 2012 World Championships and is training to possibly become the first U.S. woman ever to compete at the Olympic Games in a hijab.
