    This portrayal of Islam and Muslims is perpetuated by many sectors of the mainstream media as well as public educational institutions.

    In my opinion, Muslims and non-Muslims alike need to educate themselves before they run around with banners making the rest of us look bad. What do you think?

    I have taken the time to research the Qur’an and talk to my Muslim peers about Islam – granted, in my time I have known few Muslims, but I, awkwardly, too it upon myself to discuss Islam with them and learnt plenty. I still believe that the issue is in the extremists, not in the religion itself and that this is an issue across all faiths, and is not restricted to Muslims only, despite, of course, what some like to think. Western culture has an irrational fear of Muslims, and that is solely based on the MSM’s and government’s portrayal of Muslims. I mean for all we know they are in fact “evil terrorists”, after all that is what we are shown constantly, but I guess we’re too lazy to read and school ourselves… Let me be naive and believe in the good of people, the world has not destroyed my soul yet, not quite anyhow.

    P.s I realise Twitter isn’t exactly “valid”, but if you research, you’ll realise these comments are legitimate.
